Hope's musical interests and talents seem boundless. She is a member of our harp ensemble, "Harp Song of the Blue Ridge," performing this year at the hugely successful fundraiser, "Harps of Gold Concert." She also performed with the group at the Lynchburg Symphony's "Christmas & Candlelight" Concert.

Hope is a member of Cantate, the children's choir in Lynchburg, and in addition to the harp, she plays the violin, piano, flute, and performs in her middle school theater projects. We're very proud of Hope! Congratulations.

Every time I am privileged to attend an outstanding concert in our community, I am reminded again how fortunate we are to be the recipients of such talent.


Such was the case Dec. 12th when the Harps of Gold presented its Christmas Concert at Fort Hill United Methodist Church. Virginia Schweninger, director of Harpsong, well known throughout the area for her many accomplishments, and her harpist students presented a varied and beautiful program of Christmas music. She was accompanied by Nancy VanZant, also a harpist student, and organist and handbell soloist at Fort Hill. What a wonderful way to spend an otherwise dreary afternoon. Don't deprive yourself of such an opportunity if and when it happens again.
